WWII French Soldier Uniform

2 Soldier Jackets were made for Furta Sacra.
In this project we aimed to achieve the historically accurate version of WWII French Soldier Uniform. Considering the color, sillouette and the look of fabric on camera.

Costume Fabrication Process
The jackets are made to look slightly oversized for characterization, showing how young and unfitting Jean is as a soldier.

Coat Vent
After the piece were sewn together. For more mobility, a coat vent is added
Experimentation with test fabric
Final Costume later was cut and added the vent.
To prep the fabric, fabric glue and anti-fraying liquid were used.

Rigging
Jean is a very active character with dynamic movements. Jacket needed to be rigged for stability before sewn on the body
In every other seam, there is twisted 24 guage wire incorporated for better control.

Both costumes were aged and the backings were painted to camouflage since the costumes are seen both inside and outside.
